Dennis has 35 years of experience playing guitar, and
started playing when he was 14. He is predominantly self taught, but has
taken lessons at Jack Cechini Guitar Studios, and studied for a year and
a half under local jazz guitarist Frank Dawson. He also attended Guitar
Master classes with Joe Pass and John Scofield. He is the band’s sound
man and technical wizard, and the resident computer geek.
Dennis was heavily influenced by the music of the Beatles,
and spent most of his teen years playing in cover-style rock bands. He
was the lead guitarist for the Top 40s Pop/Rock band Local 710 for 8 years.
This band played mostly high school and college dances in the Chicago
area from 1967 through 1975. Dennis was also rhythm/lead guitarist of
another Wedding/All Occasion band, Bare Necessities for 7 years before
joining Confetti. Dennis has been a member of Confetti
since 1990.
Dennis has very eclectic tastes in music. He has a love
for classical music, but also loves jazz, pop, classic rock and roll,
new age, and country music. His hobbies include high-end audio systems,
programming effects units for his guitar, and movies on DVD and laser
disc. He has an extensive record and CD collection due to his love of
so many styles of music. He is a perfectionist and strives to be the best
at any task he performs.
